Tiramisu

Ingredients

  • 4 egg yolks

  • ½ cup sugar

  • 8 oz mascarpone

  • 1 cup heavy cream

  • 4 shots espresso

  • 1 package ladyfingers

  • 2 Tbsp coffee liqueur (omit for non-alcoholic version)

  • unsweetened cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

  1. Using a hand mixer, whip egg yolks and half of the sugar until light and fluffy

  2. In another bowl, whip heavy cream and the remaining sugar until medium peak is achieved

  3. Add in mascarpone and continue whisking to combine

  4. Fold the cream/mascarpone mixture into the egg yolks until combined

  5. In a shallow bowl or pasta plate, combine espresso and coffee liqueur if using. Quickly dip ladyfingers in and lay them in a single layer in an 8x8 pan

  6. Smooth half of the mascarpone cream mixture on top

  7. Lay down another layer of ladyfingers and smooth the remaining cream mixture on top

  8. Dust cocoa powder generously. Let chill in the refrigerator overnight. Best served chilled
